Installing the software

Step 1: Be sure the USB cable is NOT plugged into the USB port of your computer or into the diagnostic port on your boat's engine.

Step 2: Insert the USB stick into an available USB port on your computer.

Step 3: If a window does not open showing the disk contents, use your Computer to navigate to the USB stick.

Step 4: Double click on the 555scan-setup icon to launch the setup.

Step 5: Follow the prompts to complete the setup process.

Step 6: If you get an error message saying "This operation requires elevation", don't panic. This is a security feature on some Windows computers. The installation is complete except for the USB driver. Navigate back to the USB Stick, then the USB Drivers folder. Double click on the CDM file to install the driver.

Step 7: Remove the USB Stick form the computer. This is not required any more.

Installing the cable

Step 1: Plug the USB end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer

Step 2: Your comuter should now detect the cable and a small message notice will appear informing you that the device is working.
